"Proudly presented by Clarence City Council, the annual Clarence Jazz Festival is Tasmania's most enduring musical event.   For 28 years this much-loved event has grown from strength to strength and brought nipaluna/Hobart's Eastern Shore to life in a vibrant celebration of music, art, and culinary delights.   The 2024 Festival will again offer our dedicated audience the opportunity to be fully immersed in Tasmania's vibrant music scene and will feature some of the state’s finest musical talents as well as premier artists from across the country, and around the world.  And in 2024, we're proud and excited to once again be shining a spotlight on local food and beverages with Clarence producers at the forefront of each and every event."

Jazz Ambassador Shannon Barnett: A Symphony of Talent

In a remarkable feat, the festival is ecstatic to welcome Shannon Barnett as the 2024 Jazz Ambassador. Renowned for her mastery on the trombone and her innovative compositions, Shannon, an Australian virtuoso now residing in Cologne, Germany, will grace the festival with her presence. Her participation is a testament to the festival's stature, drawing talent from across the globe. Prepare to be mesmerized by her performances, which will be a cornerstone of the festival's diverse and vibrant program.

A Culinary Journey: The Clarence Food and Wine Project

After last year's resounding success, the Clarence Food and Wine Project makes a much-anticipated return. Spearheaded by the renowned restaurateur, market manager, and chef Rhys Hannan, this segment promises a gastronomic journey featuring the finest local produce. The highlight? An unmissable Long Lunch at Uplands Vineyard in Cambridge, where the enchanting melodies of Shannon Barnett will complement Rhys’s culinary masterpieces, offering an experience that tantalises all senses.

The Heart of the Festival: Rosny Festival Hub

This year's festival will centralise around the Rosny Festival Hub, encompassing the Rosny Barn, the Schoolhouse Gallery, and the verdant Rosny Parklands. The Rosny Farm Arts Centre will transform into a buzzing hub of activity, offering a space for festival-goers to connect, celebrate, and immerse themselves in an array of artistic expressions. From live music to art exhibitions, and gourmet food to delightful drinks and free activities, the Festival Hub is set to be a kaleidoscope of cultural festivities.

Art in Focus: Leigh Rigozzi's ‘A Walk Around the Block’

Embracing the visual arts, the festival is proud to commission local artist Leigh Rigozzi to develop ‘A Walk Around the Block’, a signature piece that will form the visual identity of this year's festival. Leigh's dynamic and engaging artwork will not only adorn the festival's promotional materials but will also come to life in a unique live painting event in collaboration with Harpists Emily Sanzaro and Blythe Tait. Additionally, Leigh’s solo exhibition at the Schoolhouse Gallery is a must-visit for art lovers.
